LET IT SHINE!
No matter what style or construction method you prefer, Mary is pretty sure you have a quilt that’s “screaming for beads”! Discover how bead embellishment can enhance fabric with texture, color, reflection, and visual interest. Mary shares tips for successful bead embellishment as she discusses technical aspects such as; how to stabilize, when to bead, and when to quilt. Learn how beads can effectively become the spark” that draws the eye around the piece, “star” as the main design element, or “frame” the quilt with edging or binding techniques. Of course the lecture will shine with humor and many “real” quilts!

VIEWED WITH A SMILE - HUMOROUS QUILTS BY MARY STORI
Do you think quilting has gotten a tad too serious? Mary says to “snap out of it. You are supposed to be having fun!” This slide lecture features mainly embellished quilts and includes an overview of their particular construction concerns to assure the work hangs flat and square! Join Mary as she describes her work from wacky inspirations to the finished piece.

WOOL COLLAGE - WHAT’S OLD IS NEW AGAIN **NEW LECTURE**
Mary has updated the mid-19th century penny-rug style of embroidered wool appliqué with a new look. Discover the visual warmth of wool, the appeal of embroidery, the charm of buttons, and the pizzaz of beads!! Mary shares construction guidelines to guarantee your success whether your sewing preference is hand or machine. View collaged traditional, folk art, and contemporary bead embellished wall quilts. Inspiration continues as we explore how these methods translate to table runners, pillows, purses, tote bags, and even scissors sheaths! Don’t throw out those old wool coats or buttons before sharing this hour with Mary!

HAVE NEEDLE - WILL TRAVEL!
Have you ever dreamed of traveling with a quilting tour or wondered what it would be like to take a quilting cruise? Join Mary for a virtual quilter’s tour of the fabulous destinations she’s experienced hosting quilting trips. Whether cruisin’ along the quilting highways, skyways, high seas, or lazy waterways, there are quilters to meet, quilts to see, and fabric to be found! She’ll share the stories of her trip inspired theme quilts and acquaint you with the work and lives of regional quilters.

GUIDELINES FOR SCHEDULING: Our goals are identical, to provide excellent workshop experiences that exceeds the expectations of every student. With this in mind, it’s best to schedule beading and hand quilting workshops as daytime classes and if possible, at the beginning of a conference. Because fine motor skills are utilized in these classes, students (and their eyes) work much better if they are not pooped!

Guilds - Be sure to inform your members: Mary’s workshops feature live video projection of all hands-on demonstrations. Every student has a front row seat, as they master the techniques, no matter where they sit in the room!
